This FOA supports high-impact technology research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) to accelerate the bioeconomy and, in particular, the production of low-carbon fuels for the aviation industry.

California Energy Commission – Renewable Hydrogen Transportation Fuel Production. Total funding is $7,000,000 with maximum awards of $3M. This solicitation will fund projects to design, engineer, construct, install, test, operate, and maintain a hydrogen facility in California that will produce 100 percent renewable hydrogen from in-state renewable resource(s). The facility, once constructed and operational, will be a source of 100% renewable hydrogen which will be utilized for transportation fuel.

Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration – 2021 Port Infrastructure Development Grants. Total funding is $230,000,000 with maximum awards of $1M-$57.5M, depending on project. The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 appropriated $230 million for the Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) to make grants to improve facilities within, or outside of and directly related to operations of or an intermodal connection to, coastal seaports, inland river ports, and Great Lakes ports.

The CMP provides financial incentives to equipment owners to repower, retrofit or replace in-use heavy-duty vehicles and equipment with cleaner-than-required engine and equipment technologies that will achieve emission reductions that are real, surplus, quantifiable and enforceable.

The DOE SC program in Basic Energy Sciences (BES) announces its interest in receiving applications from single investigators and from teams for support of experimental and theoretical efforts to advance fundamental understanding of the capture of CO2 from dilute sources including combined capture and chemical conversion of CO2.

This FOA seeks to train the future clean energy and manufacturing workforce by providing hands-on experience for engineering students who will conduct energy assessments at SMEs, often located in rural communities.

The Low-No Program provides funding to State and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities such as recharging, refueling, and maintenance facilities.
