Zero & Near-Zero Emission Cargo Handling Equipment & Infrastructure at Warehouse, Distribution, & Intermodal Facilities in Riverside & San Bernardino Counties. Total funding is $6,000,000 with maximum awards of $3M. The purpose of this grant is to partner with operators to deploy zero- and near-zero emission on-road trucks and off- road cargo handling equipment and supporting infrastructure.

Sales and Use Tax Exclusion (STE) Program. Total funding is $100,000,000 with maximum awards of $20M. The program excludes from sales and use taxes purchases of Qualified Property: if its use is either to process Recycled feedstock or using Recycled feedstock in the production of another product or soil amendment; or that is used in an Advanced Manufacturing process; or that is used to manufacture Alternative Source products or Advanced Transportation Technologies.

SDAPCD Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program – Trucks (Class 5, 6, 7, and 8). Total funding is $4,300,000 with maximum awards of $30K. GMERP is a partnership between the State Air Resources Board (CARB) and local agencies (like air districts and seaports) to quickly reduce air pollution emissions and health risk from freight movement along California’s trade corridors.

Solar Heating, Cooling, and Power for Industrial and Commercial Applications. Total funding is $3,000,000 with maximum awards of $1.5M. The intent is to increase the market availability of solar thermal systems and advance the development of emerging pre-commercial solar combined heating, cooling, and power systems by reducing the cost and advancing the technology and market readiness needed to increase adoption.

FY 2019-20 Food Waste Prevention and Rescue Grant Program. Total funding is $4,000,000 with maximum awards of $150K-$300K. The purpose of this competitive grant program is to lower overall greenhouse gas emissions by expanding existing or establishing new food waste prevention and/or rescue projects in California to reduce the amount of food being disposed in landfills.

Connected Communities. Total funding is $65,000,000 with maximum awards of $3M-$7M, depending on group. The objective of this FOA is to select projects that will demonstrate how groups of buildings combined with other types of DERs, such as EV charging and PV generation, can reliably and cost effectively serve as grid assets by strategically deploying efficiency and demand flexibility. By demonstrating the ability of groups of buildings and DERs to modify load, the FOA outcomes will enable increased energy efficiency, reduced energy demand, and reduced environmental impact.

Developing and Demonstrating Advanced Combustion Systems for the Industrial Sector. Total funding is $10,000,000 with maximum awards of $1.5M-$8.5M, depending on group. The purpose of this solicitation is to fund projects that will demonstrate increased efficiency of the oxygen-enriched combustion for industrial applications, or improve economics of equipment for oxygen production.

Buildings Energy Efficiency Frontiers & Innovation Technologies (BENEFIT). Total funding is $80,000,000 with maximum awards of $750K-$3M, depending on topic. The objective of this FOA is to research and develop next-generation building technologies that have the potential for significant energy savings and improved demand flexibility, affordability, and occupant comfort. An additional goal is to advance building construction, remodeling, and retrofit practices, and associated workforces.

Evaluating Bi-Directional Energy Transfers and Distributed Energy Resource Integration for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Fleet Electrification. Total funding is $22,000,000 with maximum awards of $3M-$4M, depending on group. The purpose of this solicitation is to fund technology demonstration and deployment (TD&D) research projects that enable and evaluate resilience, renewable integration, and cost management use cases for medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs).

Solar Energy Generating System (SEGS) VIII & IX Construction And VIII Demolition Projects. Total funding is $0, the selected DCBO Firm will be reimbursed. The DCBO will ensure that both SEGS’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction and demolition projects are completed on schedule and in accordance with all the conditions of certifications.
